Relaunching The Franchise JUne 2019

Since my last post, it took me a while, but I finally made contact with my first editor. I found a service, Editor Freelance Association out of the DFW Metroplex.  I was specific about what I wanted from an editor.

They were able to set me up with a potential editor. We made contact via email. In my email, I made mention for an editor that maybe not specialize in fantasy, but one that is very familiar with fantasy stories.

She replied letting me know she loves fantasy. This was a big plus. She asked for a few pages to get an idea of my book. She also is familiar with the audience I had chosen. So this is potentially a big plus.

For me, the challenge is do I rewrite? My first thought is to do that, rewrite the two books I have already written. I don’t know or think I want the editor to do it for me.  The additional challenge is the time to rewrite. As a result, I have pushed back the publishing date from January 2020 to June 2020.

I want to give myself plenty of time to publish and launch.

We talked a little about costs. This maybe expensive, but with the plan I have, I’ll be able to get a good ROI. `

I still struggle with deciding if whether I rewrite or give to editor. Then the decision is copyediting or developmental editing.

Check back for the next update.
